Fa'a Samoa – the Samoan Way. Colour. 1 reel. Directed by James Siers. Wonderful overview of Samoa, including fishing and tattooing.

Samoa i Sisifo. Colour, 1 reel. 1972. Produced to mark the tenth anniversary of Samoa's freedom, a good overview of the country, including historical photos and text by the prominent Samoan academic Professor Albert Wendt.

I can get another wife, but I can't get any parents. Colour. Australian production. The trials of a young Samoan man seeking to get married and migrate to NZ for work.

Teine Samoa – Samoan Girl. Colour. The life of a teenage girl in a rural Samoan village.

Emancipation of Women. b/w, 2 reels. British production on the Suffragette movement.

Here and Now. Colour. Australian production on the evils of tobacco, aimed at school children. The kids do research to test how toxic tobacco can be, and how it physically harms your health.

Tag der Freiheit. (= Day of Freedom). b/w, 1 reel, 1935. Leni Riefenstahl's short doco on the German army. Very little spoken word, but what there is, is in German. Nazi era film, includes Hitler and Bormann on reviewing stand.

The Lorax. Colour, animation. Dr Seuss' amazing story of the evil Once-ler's plan to chop down all the truffula trees. Guaranteed to make all young viewers ardent environmentalists.

The Sneetches, The Zax, Green Eggs & Ham. Colour, 1 reel. Three entertaining short animation films by the hilarious Dr Seuss..

Tibet. Colour, 1 reel. 1949. Lowell Thomas, American TV journalist, was among the last westerners to visit Tibet before the Chinese invasion in 1950. This film is his record of that trip, and includes his donkey-back 30 day journey along perilous trails over the Himalayas from India, plus footage shot by an American visitor, Brooke Dolan, during WW2.
